In the tradition of all our Kerrygold Irish Butters, the flavor is creamy, the color remarkably golden, and the all-natural butter is hormone-free. It's salted sweet cream butter, and shoppers tell us they like its pleasant saltiness and deep yellow color. They reach for it on toast and with pasta, potatoes and everyday cooking.

Try spreading it on the outside of soft bread and cheese sandwiches, then grilling them. Or make your own savory spreadable butter with lime and chili powder to top a flatiron steak or grilled corn in the husk. Keep the tub refrigerated; it holds 16 servings of 14 g.

At Kerrygold, our milk comes from small, family-run dairy farms in Ireland, a tradition that is fundamental to the community. Our 14,000 co-op members focus on producing grass-fed milk. Made by people who care, for people who care.

Ingredients: PASTEURIZED CREAM, SALT.

Common Questions

Is there a spreadable butter that's just cream and salt, without added oil?
Yes. Our Kerrygold Naturally Softer Pure Irish Butter is made from only pasteurized cream and salt. Many spreadable butters get their softness by blending in vegetable oil, which adds to the ingredient list and changes the flavour. Ours gets its softness from the milk itself, through summer milk and gentle churning. Shoppers tell us they appreciate the short ingredient list, with no oils or additives.

Why is Irish butter so yellow?
Irish butter like our Kerrygold Naturally Softer gets its deep golden colour largely from grass. Cows grazing fresh pasture take in beta-carotene, a pigment that passes into the milkfat and then into the butter. Ireland's mild climate lets cows graze outdoors for much of the year. Our Naturally Softer is made with milk from Irish grass-fed cows, it is certified Grass Fed, and its colour is remarkably golden. Shoppers notice the deep yellow colour too.

Is Kerrygold Naturally Softer butter spreadable straight from the fridge?
We make our Naturally Softer to be a softer, more spreadable natural butter, but shoppers' experiences vary. Some spread it easily straight from the fridge, while others still find it too firm for toast. It needs to be kept refrigerated. Because it is only cream and salt, cold firms it the way it firms any butter, so a few minutes on the counter makes it spread more easily. Try spreading it on the outside of soft bread and cheese sandwiches, then grilling them.

Is Kerrygold Naturally Softer salted, and what's in it?
It is salted. Our Naturally Softer is a salted sweet cream butter, and its ingredients are pasteurized cream and salt. Contains: Milk. A 14 g serving, about one tablespoon, has 100 calories, 11 g total fat (7 g saturated), 30 mg cholesterol and 100 mg sodium, with 0 g carbohydrate and 0 g protein. The 8 oz (227 g) tub holds 16 servings. We describe it as an all-natural butter that is hormone-free.

Where is Kerrygold Naturally Softer butter made?
Kerrygold Naturally Softer is a product of Ireland, and it is imported. At Kerrygold, our milk comes from small, family-run dairy farms in Ireland. We have 14,000 co-op members who focus on producing grass-fed milk.

How is Kerrygold Naturally Softer different from regular Kerrygold butter?
The difference in our Naturally Softer butter lies in the milk and the churning. The milk our grass-fed cows produce in the summer months is highest in naturally softer milkfat. We gently churn that summer milk with a special process to make a softer, more spreadable natural butter. It has the same creamy flavour as all of our Kerrygold Irish Butters. It comes in a tub, which some shoppers prefer to sticks because it is easy to open and close, though others note the sticks cost less per ounce. The softer texture is handy for mixing a savory butter with lime and chili powder to top a flatiron steak or grilled corn in the husk.
