Our Organic Parsley is gently dried to hold its color and fresh green character, and shoppers tell us it keeps a nice green color and doesn't fade like some other dried parsley. Where other herbs announce themselves, parsley makes everything around it taste a little fresher.

Dried parsley rehydrates in liquid and releases its character gradually, so it does its best work stirred into soups, sauces and dressings where it has a moment to soften. Add it to chicken noodle soup, minestrone, stews or pot roast, where it softens over a long simmer and brightens the finish. It belongs in tomato sauce, meatballs, meatloaf and stuffing too, and in potato dishes: mashed, roasted or in potato salad.

Whisk it into ranch dressing, herb butter, aioli and marinades, or fold it into cream cheese, sour cream dips and compound butters for fish and steak. It's a natural base for homemade seasoning blends, from Italian herb mixes to poultry seasoning and everything bagel-style toppings. For a quick finish, sprinkle it over rice pilaf, buttered egg noodles, roasted vegetables, garlic bread, scrambled eggs or creamy pasta and chicken dishes. Against heavier seasonings it rounds out the flavor rather than competing.

Common Questions

Can I use dried parsley instead of fresh parsley?
Yes. Our CADIA® Organic Parsley is a dried organic parsley. A common rule of thumb is about 1 teaspoon of dried parsley for every 1 tablespoon of fresh, because drying concentrates the leaf. Dried parsley rehydrates in liquid and releases its character gradually, so add it to soups, sauces and dressings where it has a moment to soften. For a raw garnish where you want the texture of whole leaves, fresh parsley is the better choice.

Why does dried parsley turn brown, and how do I keep it green?
Dried herbs fade mainly from light, heat, air and moisture, so a closed container kept away from the stove's heat and out of sunlight holds color longest. Our CADIA® Organic Parsley is gently dried to hold its color and fresh green character, and we pack it in a glass jar that protects it from light and keeps the leaf fresh between uses. Shoppers tell us it keeps a nice green color and doesn't fade like some other dried parsley.

What's a mild dried herb that goes with almost everything?
Parsley is the most broadly useful herb in the rack, and our CADIA® Organic Parsley is mild, clean and faintly grassy with a light peppery edge, without the sharpness stronger dried herbs bring. It rounds out heavier seasonings rather than competing with them, and its green flecks add visual life to pale dishes. Shoppers keep it within reach of the stove for soups, sauces, potatoes and dips, and it's a good base for homemade blends, from Italian herb mixes to poultry seasoning and everything bagel-style toppings.

Is CADIA® Organic Parsley fresh or dried, and what's in the jar?
CADIA® Organic Parsley is dried parsley, packed in a 0.3 oz glass jar. The only ingredient is organic parsley. It's grown organically and carefully dried to preserve its color and aroma.

Is CADIA® Organic Parsley organic, non-GMO, kosher, non-irradiated and ETO-free?
Yes, our CADIA® Organic Parsley is Organic, Non-GMO, Kosher, non-irradiated and non-ETO. Irradiation and ethylene oxide (ETO) gas are two methods sometimes used to reduce microbes in dried spices, and some shoppers prefer herbs processed without either.

How do I use CADIA® Organic Parsley in soups, sauces and dressings?
We think of CADIA® Organic Parsley as a finishing herb that lifts a dish without overpowering it. In chicken noodle soup, minestrone, stews and pot roast it softens over a long simmer and brightens the finish, and it works well in tomato sauces, meatballs, meatloaf, stuffing and potato dishes. For dressings and spreads, whisk it into ranch, herb butter, aioli or marinades, or fold it into cream cheese, sour cream dips and compound butters for fish and steak. You can also sprinkle it over rice pilaf, buttered egg noodles, roasted vegetables, garlic bread and scrambled eggs.
